Numbers of Home Inspectors and Domestic Energy Assessors
1. Process to accreditation/certification *
There are a number of stages leading to the accreditation of Domestic Energy Assessors and the certification of Home Inspectors. These are set out in the diagram below:
* Home Inspectors and Domestic Energy Assessors must be accredited to produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and in addition, Home Inspectors must be certificated to produce Home Condition Reports (HCRs).
- candidates can qualify only once they have passed the exam and completed practical assessments
- assessors can become accredited or certificated only once they are qualified and have passed a criminal records check
